TN Govt Adds 1000 more beds as Most hospitals are nearly full

The Tamil Nadu government has added 1000 more beds to the hospitals as most of the hospitals are almost full. This move comes a day after Health Minister C Vijaya Bhaskar’s statement that people can walk into any hospital and get admitted.


Addreing the media on Tuesday, Vijaya Bhaskar said that at least 1,000 more beds will be added to government facilities in the coming days to treat COVID-19 patients.
He had also met the representatives of 400 private hospitals in a video conference, requesting them to take in more patients and increase the bed capacity.

He also asked them to update the current bed vacancies, occupancies, ventilator status on www.stopcoronatn.in. Earlier, FIR was filed on ex-anchor Varadharajan for allegedly spreading false news about shortage of beds in hospitals.
