UP: 60YO gangraped, found unconscious in outskirts

A 60-year-old was allegedly gangraped in Uttar Pradesh’s Siddharthnagar district, police said on Tuesday.

The woman who belonged to Shohratgarh area of the district was found unconscious with injury in outskirts of the village on Saturday.

The police said that they were informed by the local villagers who found the woman unconscious and then she was taken to community hospital nearby.

The woman who is still under treatment gained consciousness and narrated the incident to the police. She identified the accused as Balikarn and Ramu, the Police said.

Both were arrested on Tuesday, immediately when the woman identified them.

Shohratgarh station officer Ramashish Yadav said the accused were under the influence of alcohol and drugs at the time of incident.
