Villagers forces man to quarantine inside car despite testing -ve

The fear of coronavirus pandemic made the villagers to force a man to quarantine inside a car despite testing negative.

30-year-old Madhaba Patra of Dolaba is quarantining inside the car even after quarantining for 14 days already.

Patra, a videographer, went to Bihar for some software on May 3 and returned after three days.

Before reaching Odisha, he registered his name in the returnee list and also informed Ganjam Collector about his return.

After quarantining for 14 days, he was tested negative and had all the clearance paper to enter the village.

However, the villagers were not ready to accept him irrespective of the results. He then went to police who supported Patra.

The next day, people abused Patra’s father who went to the market. Patra rushed to the area, fought with the people. Later, people took up the matter with Dolaba sarpanch who asked the youth to stay in the nearby Kalingi quarantine centre.

With no support, he is forced to stay in the centre. He is currently living in his car. He eats, sleeps inside the car and comes out only to use the toilet.
