Sanju Samson smashed 74 from 32 deliveries against Chennai Super Kings in his first match of IPL 2020.
After losing Jaiswal early, Smith and Samson joined hands to take on CSK bowlers. They ended up scoring a mammoth 216. In return, CSK lost the match.
Samson received appreciation from all over the world and Gautham Gambhir was one of them to appreciate the youngster.
He wrote, “Sanju Samson is not just the best wicketkeeper-batsman in India but the best young batsman in India! Anyone up for debate?”
He added, “It’s weird that the only playing eleven Sanju Samson doesn’t find a place is that of India, rest almost everyone is ready for him with open arms @rajasthanroyals @IPL @BCCI”(sic).
Gambhir also blamed Dhoni for “not leading from the front”.
