My team’s win is equal to my fifty: Shafali Verma on missing out half century

Shafali Verma has been one of the major reasons why India has remained unbeaten in the tournament so far. She not only kept the run rate ticking in the power plays she also managed to get the starts consistently.

In the last match, the youngster fell three runs short of her first fifty in the World Cup, and talking about the same in the post-match interview, she said that her team’s win is the priority.

“Yes, it does feel bad (not reaching the fifty), but for me, my team’s win is more vital; therefore, I’m happy. My team’s win is equal to my fifty, and I will try to perform much better in the upcoming games for my nation,” Shafali said.
On Team India’s unbeaten journey in the competition and overall performance, Shafali said: “Feeling good, bowlers are performing well, so do batters, the atmosphere of the team is tremendous.”

India now will play the semifinal match on March 5th and awaits the opponent.
