Cricket without crowd is like marriage without bride: Akhtar

Due to coronavirus pandemic, many of the countries are looking forward to play in empty stadium.

Recently, India passed on the guidelines to open all the stadium without spectators. While this is a welcome move considering the rapid spread of coronavirus, many players are against the same as well.

Pakistan legend Shoaib Akhtar expressed his opinion on the same.

“Playing cricket in the empty stadiums may be viable and durable for cricket boards. But I do not think we can market this. Playing cricket in an empty stadium is like marriage without a bride. We need crowds to play games. I hope the corona situation will be normalized within a year,” Akhtar told Helo Live session.

With rapid increase of corona virus, most of the tournaments will be played without the crowd and it looks like is the future at least for a year or so.
