Hyderabad: Child rights activist Achyuta Rao dies due to COVID19

Child rights activist Achyuta Rao passed away due to COVID19 in Hyderabad.

According to the News Minute report, Achyuta had other health ailments as well. He was admitted in hospital for COVID19 treatment on July 15.

Achyuta Rao was a member of State Committee for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR). His wife also worked there. He then founded Balala Hakkula Sangham – a child rights organisation.

The Balala Hakkula Sangham raised voice against child labour, child abuse and many issues. Among other events they also organize walks. Recently, in 2018, they organized a 2K walk that saw 1000s of women and girls participating. They raised their voice to increase the marriage age of women from 18 to 21.

Apart from this, Achyuta also raised his voice for many incidents that involved court cases too.

This is certainly a huge loss.
