Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty announces $100M Impact Fund for mental health services

Singer Selena Gomez’s makeup company “Rare Beauty” on Wednesday announced its plan to raise USD 100 million over the next 10 years to provide increased mental health services.

Termed as ‘Rare impact fund’, the company announced the project on the singer’s 28th birthday.

The beauty brand is going to start the mission from its very first sale where one per cent of annual Rare Beauty sales will go directly to the fund. They are also collaborating with several “philanthropic partners” to raise the money.

“Our goal is ambitious. We want to raise $100 million for mental health in the next 10 years. With the launch of the Rare Impact Fund, we will create one of the largest philanthropic efforts focused on mental health in the world. The funds will go toward increasing access to mental health services, particularly for underserved communities,” CEO Friedman said in the release.

Gomez also shared her excitement for the project and thanked everyone who made this project a reality.

In the press release, Gomez stated that she and her brand always wanted to support people who do not have access to mental health services. She also shared that mental health has always had always had a “profound” impact on her life.

“I am so grateful to be surrounded by a team that’s helped make the Rare Impact Fund a reality. Since the brand’s inception, we wanted to find a way to give back to our community and further support who needed access to mental health services, which have had a profound impact on my life,” Gomez said in the press release.

She also explained that the fund is going to help many people and she is proud that her company has started such an amazing initiative.

“Rare Beauty is focused on helping people feel more connected to one another and less alone in the world. The Rare Impact Fund will make a direct impact on many lives and, ultimately, make a difference in the world. I’m proud of the work we’ve begun to do with our partners to offer these services to anyone who needs support,” THR quoted Gomez, as saying.
