R Ashwin set to play 6 games for Nottinghamshire

After India’s Test team Vice-captain Rahane inked a deal with Hamshire, the off-spinner Ashwin is all set to play in the England county.

Ashwin will turn up for six division 1 games for Nottinghamshire which also features England’s Stuart Broad.

Earlier, Ashwin played four games for Worcestershire during the 2017 season which turned out to be fruitful as Ashwin picked up 20 scalps in four games and also scored 214 runs.

BCCI wants India’s long format specialist to play in England county before the start of Test Championship.

Apart from Ashwin and Rahane, India’s middle order batter Cheteshwar Pujara will play for Yorkshire.

It is almost certain that both Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav might feature in the county cricket as well.

Whereas, Hanuma Vihari, Prithvi Shaw will play for India A.

The World Test Championship will begin in July, right after the World Cup with Ashes being the first tour followed by New Zealand’s series against Sri Lanka.
