August 15, 1997: Charlotte Edwards scored her maiden ton

On this day: August 17th, 1997, Charlotte Edwards became the youngest (now third youngest) player to score an ODI ton.

It was the 2nd ODI of SA’s tour to England. Batting first, Edwards had 102. Later, we had Metcalfe(44) and Smit(50*) taking England to 253.

In return, Olivier and Reid added 105 for the 1st wicket and scored 60, 56. Later, Davies scored 48 and cameos from lower order helped South Africa to win the ODI in the final delivery.

Connor had three run-outs and a wicket in the match.
