AUSA vs INDA: Ajinkya Rahane’s gesture wins heart

During the match between India A and Australia A, the Australian team’s rising star Will Pucovski was hit on the helmet by a bouncer off Kartik Tyagi.

Pucovski tried to pull a short ball but was beaten and was hit on the helmet. He immediately went down on his knees and was down was a couple of minutes. The doctors ran in immediately and he had to walk off the field. Luckily, he didn’t have to use any assistance.

Right after the end of the play, the skipper Ajinkya Rahane walked to the Australian dressing room and spent a few minutes enquiring about the condition of the youngster. This gesture took social media by storm with netizens appreciating Rahane’s act.

Rahane has been kind to his opposition in many occasions and one of them was during the Afghanistan Test. Rahane captained team and India ended up with the Test with ease. In the end, while posing for the trophy, Rahane asked the Afghanistan team to join for the photograph. This was yet another incident where Rahane was just being himself.

Coming back to this match, India A declared at 247 for 9 in the first innings. Rahane scored 117* and dragged his team to decent total. In return, Australia A made 306 for 9 before declaring. Cameron Green smashed 125* for the team.

In the 2nd innings, India was troubled by Steketee, who picked up five wickets and reduced the team to 189 for 9. Saha scored a brilliant fighting 54*.

In the final innings of the match, Australia A managed to score 52-1 from 15 overs and the match was ended in a draw.
