Cologne Boxing World Cup: India end with 9 medals, including 3 Gold medals

Indian boxers grabbed 9 medals including 3 golds, 2 silver and 4 bronze in the Cologne Boxing World Cup which concluded on Saturday in Germany.

The 2018 Asia Gold medallist Amit Panghal had a walkover from his opponent, the local favourite Argishti Terteryan as he went on to win the Gold in 52Kg category.

Satish Kumar, who played well in the Semi-final against Djamili Dini Moindze, had an emotional walkover in the final because of an injury. He ended up with silver medal in +91kg category.

It was the fight between two Indians in the 57kg category final with Manisha Moun defeating two-time AIBA women’s Youth World Champion Sakshi Choudhary.

AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships Bronze medallist Simranjit Kaur played Maya Kleinhans in the final. Kaur landed punches early and managed to defeat Kleinhans in the final to grab the Gold in 60kg category.

Gold- Simranjit Kaur, Amit Panghal, Manisha Moun

Silver- Satish Kumar, Sakshi Choudhary

Bronze- Sonia Lather, Pooja Rani, Gaurav Solanki and Mohamed Hussamudin
