Kolkata Knight Riders found their 2nd win on Monday in Ahmedabad, finally, after trying hard in a recent couple of games.
Eoin Morgan found his luck back, called it right at the toss after a while. Right from toss, everything went their way.
Both the openers- Rahul and Agarwal- struggled to add runs on board with Kolkata bowlers dominating from ball one.
Cummins removed Rahul and then the other bowlers chipped into rattle Punjab’s top order. At one point, they found themselves at 98 for 8. In the end, Jordan added useful runs, scored 30 from 18 to take the team to 123.
Though the team was 20 to 30 runs short, they began well by removing three of the Kolkata batters early.
From 17 for 3, Tripathi and Morgan built a partnership and kept the scoreboard ticking. Since they didn’t have a lot to chase, they had all the time in the middle. Tripathi made 41 before getting out to Hooda. Russell then struggled, ran himself out for 10.
In the end, Morgan stood 47 not out and then Karthik had 12 from 6 to take the team home.
Kolkata now moves to 5th in the points table, just above Punjab.
