Afghan: Teen girl shoots dead 2 Taliban fighters who killed her parents

An Afghan girl shot two Taliban fighters and injured several after the fighters dragged her parents from their home and killed them for supporting the Government.

The girl identified as Qamar Gul is from Ghor. She is possibly 14 to 16 years old.

The incident happened last week where the fighters came looking for her father who was the village chief.

The local police head Habiburahman Malekzada told AFP that her father was a government supporter, which is why the Taliban fighters went to his house and dragged him out.

While her mother stopped them, the fighters killed both her parents.

“Qamar Gul, who was inside the house, took an AK-47 gun the family had and first shot dead the two Taliban fighters who killed her parents, and then injured a few others,” he said.

Several fighters came in search of Gul, however, the local people and other activists joined hands to save the girl and her younger brother.

Afghan security forces have now taken Gul and her younger brother to a safer place, said Mohamed Aref Aber, spokesman to the provincial governor.

People are appreciating the act of the young girl and the news has taken the internet by storm.
