Gayle ends his ODI career in style… Or not!

It’s been 20 long years since the debut of the Universal Boss. He has been through a lot of ups and downs, did break millions of records and made sure to give meaning to the Universal Boss tag. He did everything. From scoring Sixes to travelling millions of Kilometres around the globe.

At 39, Chris Gayle played one heck of the innings even today. He was hitting the ball clean making his bat speak the rest. He was wearing 301 instead of 45 on his jersey denoting his number of ODI matches. He overtook Lara for most runs by a West Indian batter. He broke all the records he could to put his name on top.

Right from ball one, he was in for his natural game, showcased his talent even at this age. After his quick knock, he was dismissed by Kohli, his friend, as if it was a thank you note.

He walked back heads high with his trademark celebration as the players from both the teams paid tribute to the man.

The signs were clear. He might call it a day after this match or not. He might reverse his decision just like he did after the World Cup.

Even if he calls it a day, this knock speaks a lot about him and if he doesn’t call it, this knock, again, speaks a lot about him.
