Gurugram: 14YO boy commits suicide after named in ‘Me Too’ post

Recently, ‘Bois Locker Room’ controversy which triggered sexual violence made teens come out and talk about how they were being harassed or treated.

In one such incident, a girl took to Instagram to write about how she was attacked two years ago and was tired of keeping it a secret. She also named a 14-year-old boy in her post and also alleged that the incident took place in the basement of her apartment.

The next day, the boy killed himself by jumping off his building’s 11th floor, hours after the girl mentioned his name in a “MeToo” post on Instagram, Hindustan Times reported.

While there was no suicide note, a message was retrieved from his phone which showed that his friends warned him about the police interrogation.

Police took him to the hospital and found that he picked up multiple injuries and was declared dead.

According to police officers, they will question students, including the girl who posted the note on Instagram and also those who commented on it.
