Hyderabad: Women complains of sexual exploitation by 139 people

A 25 years old Hyderabad woman lodged a complaint against 139 people saying that she was raped more than 5000 times in a period of ten years. The police have initiated FIR and began the investigation. The 139 people include a few women, men from the film industry, leaders of the student union.

According to Mumbai Mirror, the woman in her complaint stated that she was unemployed and was married to a man from Miryalaguda in 2009. However, due to harassment and physical assault, she filed a divorce the next year and resumed her studies.

The woman was then sexually exploited by multiple people who threatened to kill her if she didn’t cooperate. They took pictures of her, drugged her, made her dance nude, there were cigarette injuries and used weapons to threaten her. She also added that there was the caste-based threat as well.

She couldn’t complain earlier because of threats she received and she said that she took the help of an NGO which provided her with moral support.

“They run an online sex racket. Many girls are victims of their heinous acts like me,” she told to Deccan Herald.

“We are recording her statements and medical tests would also be conducted. We are trying to gather more information to verify her claims,” a Panjagutta police station officer told Deccan Herald.

The case is registered under various IPC sections like 376 (2), 509, 354 dealing with rape, sexual assault, outraging women’s modesty, and the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act.
