India, the 1st team to win 4 consecutive Tests by an innings margin

Opting to bat first, Bangladesh batters failed against the Indian pacers, especially, Ishant Sharma who took five wickets after literally a decade.
In return, India managed to score 347, thanks to Kohli’s ton, Pujara’s, Rahane’s fifties.

Batting next, Bangladesh once again suffered in the hands of Indian pacers. Ishant once again showed some class, picked up four wickets whereas, Umesh Yadav grabbed a fifer in the second innings.

Rahim was the lone player who showed resistance as he went on to score yet another fifty. However, if not for the injury of Mahmudullah who had to retire, he certainly would have scored more.

Records:
India, on Sunday, became the first team to win four consecutive Tests by an innings margin.

India’s last four Tests wins:
Against South Africa by innings & 137 runs, Pune
Against South Africa by innings & 202 runs, Ranchi
Against Bangladesh by innings & 130 runs, Indore
Against Bangladesh by innings & 46 runs, Kolkata

This is only the third instance Indian pacers have grabbed 19 or more wickets and this is the first time in Indian conditions

Kohli now has 33 Test wins, climbs to the fifth spot, ahead of Allan Border.

Kohli equalled Ricky Ponting’s record of 41 international centuries as captain. He also became the first Indian to score a ton in pink-ball cricket in an international game.
