Love we get in Chennai is more than what we get in our hometown: Deepak Chahar

Indian cricketer Deepak Chahar opened up about Chennai earlier during the Madras week celebration. In the video shared by the Chennai Super Kings, the CSK pacer was seen talking about his love for the city.

“When you’re flying to Chennai, it actually feels like you’re going home. Because the love we get in Chennai is more than what we get in our hometown,” he said.

He also added that it was surprising as well as emotional that everyone in Chennai knew him.

“My father came[to Chennai] 5-6 months ago for eye treatment. He was telling me that he asked everyone, ‘Do you know Deepak Chahar?’ He wanted to know how many people in Chennai know his son. Everyone knew me! And that is a very big thing for me. Wherever we go, people give us love.”

Deepak Chahar is in Dubai with his CSK teammates and is in currently self-quarantine. After the quarantine, the players will be allowed to practice for the upcoming season of the IPL which begins from September 19th.

While the schedule isn’t out yet, most probably, the first match will be between the defending champions Mumbai Indians and the runners-up Chennai Super Kings.
