Loyola College opens its door for transgender students

Chennai’s Loyola College will open its doors to welcome two transgender students this year.

Nineteen-year-old Mirthulla will pursue Bachelor in Multimedia (BMM) and 21-year-old Diya will pursue a Bachelor in French Literature.

After a huge struggle, both the students will not pursue their dreams. Both Mirthulla and Diya shares a common aim of working towards the betterment of the transgender community.

Loyola College chief said that the students got into the college purely based on merit and this is not the first time the college is making way for transgender students.
