Rohit Sharma became the first player to score five hundred in a single edition of the World Cup and only the second player when you simply consider it as a series/tournament.

He equalled Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most hundreds in World Cup by scoring six hundred in 16 innings to Sachin’s 42.

He now has the most number of hundreds while chasing in the World Cup, three.

He is the first player to score 10 hundreds in a span of 365 days.

This is the third instance where both openers scoring 100s in same World Cup match

He has the most number of 100s since 2017, seventeen.

He now has 27 hundreds, equals Hasim Amla’s tally and moves to 5th spot.

India also became the first team to have four century opening stand in a single World Cup edition, The Indian openers have also crossed 1000 runs in a single edition and this is just the third instance.

He now has the most 50+ scores for India after Sachin Tendulkar, 6.

He now has the second most 100+ partnership in World Cup for India, 7.

He becomes only the second player from India to score 600 runs in a single edition of World Cup.
