Sam Billings takes a break from cricket after England omission

England wicket-keeper Sam Billings announced that he will be taking a break in order to refresh himself.

This break comes after the result of not being picked up by England in the while-ball squads for the South Africa series.

Billings was the front-runner for the World Cup 2019 but unfortunately, he dislocated the shoulder at the wrong time. He then was named the vice-captain of the T20I side against New Zealand in the absence of senior players. However, he failed to impress.

Billings have decided not to put his name forward for any of the T20 franchise as well and will miss IPL 2020.

“On a personal level, I have chosen to pull out of any franchise cricket this winter as well to focus/freshen up for a big year with @KentCricket. Very fortunate to have played all over the last few years & a break from the game to refresh I feel is the best decision”, he wrote on Twitter.

Billings will prepare himself for the next season of Kent where he impressed with three consecutive tons.
