Sharanya Sadarangani – First women cricketer in ECS T10 League 2020

Sharanya Sadarangani, an Indian origin cricketer, became the first woman to play in the ECS T10 League 2020.

She made her debut for KSV Cricket Club against PSV Hann Munden in the T10 match on Monday. Walked in at number 11, the 24-year-old defended a couple of balls before being run out.

With the gloves Sharanya impressed everyone including a brilliant catch of Adeel Ahmed. Though, he wasn’t given out, Ahmed nicked another one a couple of balls later.

Sharanya has her orgins in India and in fact, she had played under-19 cricket for Karnataka in 2012 alongside Veda Krishnamurthy.

Winning the toss and choosing to bat first, KSV got off to a brisk start in the first over. After that, wickets fell at regular intervals as they fell like a pack of cards for 53 in the eighth over.

Chasing 54, PSV was reduced to 6/4 as German U19 international Sultan Shah picked two wickets and conceded just two runs in as many overs.

However, Awal Safi took the responsibility to bat through. He made an unbeaten 29 off 16 balls and won the game for PSV.
