Mahmudullah & Bowlers helped Khulna to lift the Bangabandhu T20 Cup 2020

Gazi Group Chattogram had the batting powerhouses to chase any target. It may have had a part in the decision to bowl first. Gemcon Khulna lost their star batsman Jahirul Islam on the very first ball. Zakir Hasan played few hits before holing out to Mosaddek Hossain on 25. Mahmudullah played a sensible captain innings of 70. They end up with 155/7.

Gazi openers started the innings with much freedom. Consistent pair Soumya Sarkar & Liton Das went back to pavilion inside the powerplay. Skipper Mohammad Mithun followed soon. Shamsur Rahman went for his shots and threw away his Wicket. Shykat Ali & Mosaddek Hossain played with caution. They needed 16 runs in the final over. Shahidul Islam were asked to bowl it.

Shahidul removed both Shykat (53) & Mosaddek (19) in successive deliveries and sealed the game for Gemcon Khulna. Nahidul Islam launched a six on the final ball which was not enough as they lost by 5 runs. Eventhough Gemcon was beaten by Gazi in the qualifier 1, they won on the day where it matters the most.
