Probably for the first time in the history of IPL, Chennai Super Kings have lost three matches in a row as Sunrisers Hyderabad win by 7 runs.
SRH lost early wickets after opting to bat first. While they lost Bairstow in the first over, Warner and Williamson fought back but the team lost them both in quick succession. Warner got out for Faf du Plessis’s brilliance in the boundary, whereas, Kane Williamson got run-out when Priyam Garg didn’t hear the former captain’s call.
Garg then joined with Sharma and the youngsters announced themselves in the IPL with beautiful performance.
Garg scored 51* from just 26 while Sharma had 31. They took the team to 164.
In return, Bhuvaneshvar Kumar dismissed Watson early. Rayudu who made his come back after first game made only 8, Du Plessis managed only 22.
Later, Dhoni and Jadeja added the important partnership to take the team close.
Blame the climate as well which affected Dhoni’s stamina and he was visibly struggling.
Bhuvaneshvar Kumar on the other hand injured himself while bowling during the death overs.
With Kumar going in, Khaleel had to finish his over early. 26 needed from 6 balls and SRH with no other go took a gamble of going with Samad.
The youngster managed to pull it off in the end.
For CSK, Chahar had two wickets while Chawla had one. For SRH, Natarajan picked up two wickets but the pick of the bowler is Rashid Khan who ended up giving away just 12 runs.
