For most of the rising artists, Versatility is a second option when they are just learning the rope. When they don’t fear to commit to the transformation that they have to endure in the process, they witness the magic, the magic of finding a true artist within themselves. They rarely are unconscious and mostly protect themselves from getting shaped, to relearn stuffs. Aditi Rao Hydari is one of the actors who doesn’t fear to experience the rapid change in her career and that favours the cinema for some of the best performances to witness. She keeps her conscious mind like a plain piece of paper where you can write anything to make it beautiful. She subtly commits herself to any character she plays. She always looks for a soulful connection to the characters she plays rather looking at its commercial values. Her humble appearance is still not utilized to the most to sculpt and write the most extraordinary characters for her. The day is not that far. Here are 12 best performances of Aditi that aren’t necessarily ranked.

Delhi 6 (2009)

Though Sonam Kapoor’s chirpy debut that grabbed the attention in Delhi 6, Aditi, who plays Sonam’s elder sister, asserts herself as strong actor with her subtle nuances.

Yeh Saali Zindagi (2011)

It’s the first film for which Aditi won the award for best supporting actor. A film, with the late actor Irfan Khan, is talked widely about Aditi’s performance. Her talent is recognized and it’s due is paid through the awards.

Rockstar, a film that’s celebrated by the music lovers, presents itself as a treat to the audiences frnom AR Rahman. Imtiaz Ali’s one of the experimental films showcases the nuanced actors present within the star in his movie. Aditi’s performance is reognised and nominated for best supporting actor award once again in the year 2011.

A psychological thriller that presents Aditi as one of the most entertaining actors in this moderately fell-short film.

Wazir (2016)

This interesting thriller with Farhan Akhtar and Amitabh Bachchan to share the screen, Aditi once again attracts the attention among the big stars. She again plays to her strength.

Kaatru Veliyidai (2017)

Aditi’s first Tamil debut from the school of Mani Ratnam surely played as an head turner. Her guileless charm to play the role of Leela exhibits the effortlessness and her reasonings behind her character. Despite the wide negative views to the film, The film’s shelf life could be re-determined by her performance by revisiting this film. Her dream, to get featured in her favorite filmmaker’s films, came true not once but twice, when she again played a role Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivandha Vaanam (2018).

Padmaavat (2018)

It’s a dream for any artist to feature in one of the fine filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bansali’s films. Aditi’s shared the screen with Deepika Padukone, Ranvir Singh and Shahid Kapoor in this extravagant periodical drama. Padmaavat is one of the important films in 2018 due to the political negative clout that surrounded the film. Mehrunisa, the character she played, is one of the important and substantial roles in the movie. And she won the best supporting actor award from International Indian Film Academy (IIFA).

Sammohanam (2018)

This is Aditi’s first Telugu debut film and won best actor award for the same. Sammohanam, by Mohana Krishna Indraganti, is a sweet romantic drama with a wonderful music album by Vivek Sagar. It again lets Aditi to play to her strength. The nuanced actor in herself shines radiantly in this film that stays with us for a long time.

Psycho (2020)

Mysskin’s Psycho in the beginning of the year 2020 was a real headturner for its amusing layered writing. Mysskin said he wanted a woman with angelic appearance to play to the character, Dagini. And he couldn’t think anyone but Aditi for the role. She is melancholically charming and that’s always her strength.

V (2020)

She joins once again with Mohan Krishna Indra Ganti whose strength is to play with charming romantic drama, but this time, he turns to a thrilling revenge plot. Aditi shares the screen with Nani. The film streams on Amazon Prime Video.

Sufiyum Sujatayum (2020)

Last but not the least, I find this film as Aditi as one of her best performances so far. This is her first charming Malayalam debut. This is one of the characters in which she gets to utilize her strength and be an expressive actor. She plays a mute character and a dancer. It lays enough foundation to see her express her character anything but words. There is an heartbreakingly poignant scene in the film where Aditi finds her grandma’s character die and she could do nothing but cry in silence. It was a stunning performance from her. She adds that it reminded of her own ordeal with her grandma in real life and she found the soulful connection in the films she chooses to work.

Honorable Mention : Antariksham 9000 KMPH (2018)

Aditi plays an astronaut role in this mediocrely worked out Telugu space movie at its best. Her ability to look calm in most stressed situations worked out very well for this role of hers in this movie.
