German Chancellor Angela Merkel quarantined after doctor tests positive for COVID-19

German Chancellor Angela Merkel is quarantined after her results turned positive for the COVID-19.

Merkel had precautionary vaccine earlier.

Merkel’s spokesman said the German chancellor, who is 65, was informed about the doctor’s test shortly after holding a news conference Sunday announcing new measures to curb the spread of the virus.

He also said that Merkel will continue to work from home and will undergo regular tests.

For most people the symptoms are cough and mild fever while for some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia.
