Udhayanidhi Stalin becomes DMK youth wing secretary

Actor Udhayanidhi Stalin, son of MK Stalin has been made the party youth wing secretary.

There was a lot of rumours regarding this move especially when Udhayanidhi was seen actively participating in the campaign during the Lok Sabha elections. On Thursday, the DMK made the formal announcement through a statement in the name of party general secretary K Anbazhagan.

The move, in all likelihood, establishes the succession plan, that Udhayanidhi Stalin would be groomed to replace Stalin after years.

Stalin who heads the party now was first named the party youth wing secretary in 1982, and he held the position for around 35 years before taking over as the working president after his father M Karunanidhi who was then the party president was indisposed.
