On this day, Ashes 2019 began, Australia won the nail-biter by two wickets

After being asked to bat first, England team was reduced to 44 for 5, thanks to Schutt and Perry. Sciver, however, showed resistance began the rescue act. With the help of the lower middle-order and the tail-enders, she helped England, with her 64, to reach 177. Perry had three, Schutt and Gardner picked up two.

Ecclestone’s three and March’s two gave a tough time to Australia, however, Healy’s 66 and contributions from the lower order saved the day for the visitors.

A few highlights and records-
-Taylor moved second in the list of wicketkeepers with most dismissals in Women’s ODIs. She stumped Perry off Sciver’s bowling to reach the record.
-Haynes produced a stunning one-handed catch to dismiss Schrubsole
-Ecclestone became the only cricketer to score 27 runs while batting at number 10 or low and also to pick up more than two wickets in the same ODI.
-This was the first-ever ODI where the Brunt(oh, also, Happy Birthday) did not open the bowling for England
-Healy scored 1000 ODI runs and also overtook Fields to become the wicketkeeper with most runs for Australia in women’s ODIs.
