BCCI President during his lecture for the Symbiosis Golden Jubliee Lecture Series told that he is confident of highest rating of IPL this season.
“Crowds will watch it on television… They [broadcasters] are actually expecting the highest rating of IPL this season, because they believe if [fans] don’t turn up in the ground, they will be actually watching on their television sets,” PTI quoted Ganguly as saying.
He is also confident that there will be spectators on ground soon who will be following all social distancing and will be properly tested for COVID19.
“Because of Covid and the infection, you don’t want people to be too close to each other, but very soon you will see there will be 30% people in the ground with social distancing.
“They [will be] properly tested and allowed to enter the ground. But I think that is going to happen over a period of time.”
Indian Premier League 2020 will begin from September 19th and will go on till November 10. Reportedly, RCB will be taking on MI in the first match of the tournament. CSK, who was the runners up last year will not play the first match according to reports as the team is yet to begin their practice. The 13 members of CSK who had tested positive had their test negative recently and will begin their practice soon.
