Saina Nehwal, Prannoy tested positive for COVID19

Indian stars Saina Nehwal, HS Prannoy have tested positive for coronavirus, and have been quarantined at a Bangkok hospital.

They are supposed to participate in the Thailand Open which got underway recently. The stars now have withdrawn from the tournament.

“Two Indian players have tested positive for COVID-19 — Saina Nehwal and HS Prannoy. Both players have been withdrawn from the tournament and have to be isolated in hospital for a minimum 10 days. BAI in constant touch with BWF, Team Management, Players and Organizers,” BAI tweeted on Tuesday.

However, the tournament will see the return of several Indian stars who will take the court for the first time since Coronavirus pandemic. PV Sindhu, Sai Praneeth, Kidambi Srikanth, among others will be in action in the tournament.

Parupalli Kashyap, on the other hand, has given a walkover to his Canadian opponent Jason Anthony Ho-Shue, thereby bringing an end to his participation at the Thailand Open.
