IPL, MI vs DC, Match 13- DC win by 6 wickets

Chennai’s Chepauk Stadium once again witnessed edge of the seat kind of low-scoring thriller.

Rohit Sharma opted to bat first and began well while the team had lost Quinton de Kock early. Suryakumar Yadav and the skipper built the important partnership. Rohit had 44 from 33 with 3 fours and as many sixes while Yadav had 4 fours for his 15-ball 24.

Right after that, Amit Mishra took over. The veteran who was playing his first match took four scalps to end with 4 for 24.

Ishan Kishan and Jayant Yadav slowly added an important partnership. Kishan had 26 and Jayant Yadav had 23. With a couple of big hits from the lower order batters took the team to 137. The team were 10 to 20 runs short here.

In return, Mumbai kept it tight right from ball one. There was a little bit of controversy with a catch attempt of Dhawan. While Hardik Pandya thought that he took a blinder, the third umpire ruled out the decision.

Soon, Jayant Yadav removed Prithvi Shaw which led Smith and Dhawan to add important runs in the middle. Smith had 33 runs while Dhawan had 45.

Dhawan’s dismissal gave a little opening for the team as the batting got difficult. As there weren’t a lot of runs on the board, Delhi had managed to take it slow, scored exactly the required runs for the over and took it to the last over.

Bumrah’s penultimate over saw a couple of no-balls which actually changed the fate of the game. Delhi, despite not being able to get a boundary in that over, had enough runs.

The team needed only six runs in the final over and in the end, he bowled one wide and in the slot, helped Hetmyer to get it to the boundary. He then bowled a no ball to hand over the win to Delhi for the 1st time in six matches.

Rohit Sharma, who had to go off the field during the 2nd innings, revealed that he had a niggle and he should be fine soon.
