MI completes Markande trade with DC for Rutherford

The defending IPL champions Mumbai Indians have traded Mayank Markande for Sherfane Rutherford of Delhi Capitals.

Markande, a known talent for Mumbai Indians was one of the top performers for the franchise in 2018 and his good domestic performances have earned him an opportunity to play for the country.

However, when he was replaced by Rahul Chahar in the 2019 season after the former was unwell, Chahar impressed everyone with his consistency.

The team owner Ambani wished Markande well and also welcomed Rutherford. He added that he has been watching Rutherford playing some match-winning innings for his team and he wishes that Rutherford repeats the same for Mumbai Indians as well.

Rutherford, who played for Delhi Capitals scored 73 from his seven innings while picking up a wicket. He was picked up by Delhi after his excellent show in the CPL last year.
