August 23, 2014: Charlotte Edwards scored 108*

India took on England in the second ODI and opted to field. Knight and Edwards opened the innings for England. India bowled well to remove Knight early in the innings and Sarah Taylor joined Edwards. The duo added fifty runs before Taylor got out for 23.

Minutes later, Winfield followed. While Edwards stood still at one end, the wickets tumbled at the other. Goswami dismissed Winfield and Beaumont in the consecutive deliveries to trouble England more. Sciver scored 17 and helped Edwards to take the strike often.

Edwards then went on to score an unbeaten 108 and took the team to 214. Gayakwad had four and Goswami had three.

In return, India, despite losing wickets in regular intervals was well ahead but found themselves 13 runs short of the target. Mandhana scored 32 and Kaur had 43. Mithali Raj also had 30, something that helped her to retain her world number one rankings.

For England, Gunn had four wickets, Knight and Shrubsole had two each.
