BCCI finally pays India’s physically challenged cricket team their prize money

The players and support staff members of India’s physically disabled cricket team on Saturday received the promised prize purse for winning a series in England, last year.

India defeated the hosts by 36 runs in the finals of T20 Physical Disabled Cricket Series in August last year.

BCCI promised prize money of Rs 65 Lakhs to the team earlier this March. Vikrant Keni, the captain visited BCCI headquarters where the officials handed him the symbolic cheque.

In a recent interview, the members said that they were yet to receive the prize money.

Today, an official of the All India Cricket Association for the physically challenged told PTI that the members along with the staff received the amount directly to their bank account.

The official said that the team comprised 17 players and six members of the support staff.
