Chennai’s OMR food street at Thoraipakkam demolished!

The OMR Food Street at Thoraipakkam, Chennai was demolished by the Greater Chennai Corporation on Thursday.

According to the Corporation zonal officer T Sugumar, the Corporation brought down 26 shops which were illegally built and had no permit.

The court ordered the corporation to pull down the shops and submit a report to them.

OMR Food Street which is one of the famous attractions in Thoraipakkam was built in 2014.

Since the parking was causing a lot of hindrance and traffic to the public, there were a lot of complaints as well. While the shop owners have accommodated in different branch right now, they are looking out for a solution and will try to rectify everything soon.
