COVID-19 update: Chennai, Erode, Kanchipuram under lockdown till March 31

After deciding to lockdown 75 districts across the country, officials have confirmed the second list of names in the list as a precautionary measure for COVID-19.

In Tamil Nadu, Chennai, Erode and Kanchipuram districts are announced to be under lockdown till March 31, 2020.

The state government is expected to release a list of allowables and non-allowables inthe districts later today as the Essential Services Act is governed by the state.

After extending the curfew in the state till tomorrow morning 5 am, the state government’s move would be crucial in the precautionary steps taken for COVID-19.

The state has seen seven positive corona cases so far, including one today. The patient is from Spain national as kept in isolation for now.

It is also to be noted that the Railways has cancelled all passenger trains till March 31, 2020 .
