England lift the Men’s T20 World Cup

England lifts the Men’s T20 world cup in a thriller at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Pakistan struggled with the bat initially after being sent to bat first by England.

They lost Mohammad Rizwan for 15 and cameos from Azam, Masood took them to 137/8. Sam Curran was the pick of the bowlers for England with 3 wickets to his name.

In return, Pakistan bowlers did well to pick up wickets in regular intervals and pushed England to the back foot initially. Despite struggling a bit at the start, England found their way to pick up boundaries.

It was the experienced pair of Moeen Ali and Ben Stokes that took them closer to the game in the end. Moeen Ali then got out for 13-ball 19.

Unfortunately, for Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi injured his knee and didn’t bowl in the death overs. It did impact Pakistan’s chances as Iftikhar Ahmed, who completed Shaheen Afridi’s over went for plenty.

After Moeen Ali’s dismissal, Ben Stokes smashed a couple of boundaries and reduced the required run rate and in the end, won the game for the team.

Sam Curran was named the player of the match as well as the player of the tournament.
