MS Dhoni got the biggest roar of the night, as expected when he smashed a six off Josh Little in the first match of Tata IPL 2023.
Gujarat Titans took on Chennai Super Kings in the first match of the 16th edition of the tournament in Ahmedabad. Dhoni came into bat at number eight in Ahmedabad and smashed a six off Josh Little in the 18th over of the match. The six did bring back some memories as the 41-year-old returned in Yellow jersey. He returned with an unbeaten 14 off 7.
Earlier, Ruturaj Gaikwad set the stage on fire with his blistering 92 off 50. He helped the team to reach 178/7 in their 20 overs.
In return, Shubman Gill took the game away from the visiting side as the opener smashed 63 from just 36. In the end, it was Rashid Khan and Rahul Tewatia who made things possible for the defending champions. The team won by five wickets.
