Happy Birthday, Vijay

When Ajith has always been the dream star, Vijay has been someone with whom I can easily connect. He is more like a brother, family. I don’t think I’m alone here.

Keeping his first few movies aside, starting from Poove unakaaga there are some movies of Vijay, which in my opinion, are beautiful entertainers. Movies like Kadhaluku Mariyathai, Ninaiththen Vandhaai, etc.., I can watch and rewatch ‘n’ number of times, and I don’t get bored at all.

To me, The best part of Vijay’s movie has always been the songs and his dance. Such a versatile dancer he is, he can make us all groove. Also, in most of his movies, at least in the recent times, there will be a song that attracts children, and a melody that keeps ringing in our ears even now. The music directors, the dancers deserves credit here as well.

To point out which is my favourite Vijay movie, I don’t know. There are just too many- A few made me feel good, a few entertained me, a few made me appreciate.

More than the ‘mass hero’ Vijay, I loved watching him in movies like Kushi or Piriyamaanavale. I cannot imagine anyone else doing these roles. Also, he is someone who can pull off comedy easily. The movie Sachin is a great example for that.

In the recent times, Vijay is selecting the scripts better than the most. He knows his destination, he knows what the fans expect from him, and he knows what it takes to make movies that his fans can relate and delivers it. Movies like Kaththi, Theri, Mersal is the proof. Of course, there are few flops, few movies you cannot stand at all, but it was all about how you rise from the bottom, right?

If I don’t mention Ghilli, it is a crime, to be honest. Yes, it is a remake, but I don’t think of any other movie that made people, at least those around me go gaga. Those were the days when every single channel continuously played ‘Apadi podu’ and Vijay-Trisha pair has always been something special.

Yes, he came into this industry because of his father, but it takes a lot to achieve what he has achieved in his career and continues to achieve. Most importantly, Fans.

Only a few carry an aura around them, and for sure Vijay is one and I love how he maintains his looks and dances so well even at this age.

After Mersal which is close to my heart because of many reasons, I cannot wait for Sarkar. I really hope that AR and Vijay simply recreate the magic of Thuppaki.
