If he is fit, he’ll definitely play: Langer on Cameron Green

Australian coach Justin Langer revealed that Cameron Green will definitely make his Test debut if he is fit.

Green suffered mild concussion while bowling in warm-up game against India A. Green was hit by a straight drive from Jasprit Bumrah. Green soon left the field and was substituted immediately.

While he couldn’t do much in the 2nd warm-up, she scored a ton in the first warm-up game and had two wickets as well.

Talking about the playing XI for the Tests, “If he’s passed fit, he’ll definitely play. We’re just going through the concussion protocols. It was a very unusual incident that happened to him. I saw him last night, he had a big smile on his face, he had another test this morning that we got good news on him. He’s earned the right for selection. If he’s fit and available, he’ll make his Test debut,” Langer was quoted as saying on Cricbuzz.

He also added that he is aware of Joe Burns’ form and said that one doesn’t lose talent overnight.

“I have been backing Joe for the whole time. He’s a very good player, you don’t lose your talent overnight. He also understands that runs are the greatest currency to any player and he’s been a bit light on. We’ll get eyes on him today, see how he’s going, have a chat to him and we’ll make our decision on who will open in the next day or so,” he added.

He also said that Labuschagne will not open the innings for the team and will continue to play in the middle-order.

Australia and India will lock horns in the 1st Test on December 17th.
