India defeats England to lift the Physical Disability World Cricket Series Trophy!

The Indian team created history by defeating the hosts England at the New Road Stadium in Worcester by 36 runs on Tuesday.

In the six-team series, India played Pakistan in the Semi-Final whereas, England eased past Afghanistan.

The Indian captain Vikrant Keni opted to bat first and India had a poor start as they lost Wasim Khan in the first over.

However, Captain Keni and opener Kunal Phanase steadied the ship for the team, provided the platform for Ravindra Sante who went on to score a quick-fire fifty, made 53 off 34 balls with four sixes and two fours. He was well-supported by Suganesh Mahendaran with his 33 to take India to 180.

In return, Phanase and Sunny Goyat picked two wickets each and helped India to go past the mighty England team who got bundled out for just 144. While Angus Brow looked dangerous for his 44, he had no support from the other end and the team fell short to give India a historic victory.
