Mumbai Indians rattled Kings XI Punjab in their fourth game to move up in the points table. This year’s competition is probably the best considering how every single team is dominating in a way and the competition is healthy.
KL Rahul asked Mumbai to bat first and his team answered to the call by dismissing de Kock and Yadav. Pollard then joined Sharma. The duo began slowly and then Sharma began to take on the bowlers in the latter part of the game, scoring a vital 70 from 45 deliveries. In the end, Pollard and Pandya junior took on the bowlers as usual and took the team to 191. Pollard had unbeaten 47 from 20, Pandya had 30 from 11 deliveries.
In return, Agarwal and Rahul began well to add 38. However, some good bowling from Mumbai brought the team back into the contest. Bumrah bounced back from a poor outing against RCB and dismissed Agarwal with a delivery that nibbed back in. A few deliveries later, Nair was bowled as well. While Pooran and Rahul tried to steady the innings, Rahul got too excited that he played a scoop shot completely leaving the stumps unattended. Chahar’s delivery took him by surprise and he got out for 17.
Pooran then and different partners who didn’t stay long at the crease. He managed to score 44 from 27 deliveries before getting out to Pattinson. From there on, it was Mumbai’s game. However, Gowtham’s late flourish, where he scored 22* from 13, took the team close to the target as KXIP went down by 48 runs.
