IPL 2020: MS Dhoni resumes net practice

Indian cricketer MS Dhoni has resumed his net practice for the upcoming edition Indian Premier League.

Dhoni, who haven’t played an international match since 2019 semifinals against New Zealand, was in Chennai in the month of March where he was seen practicing hard for the season.

Since the IPL got postponed, Dhoni returned to his native and the former Indian captain spent most of his time with his family. Also, right before the lockdown, he was a regular visitor to JSCA international complex where he used to buy sporting equipments and he even inaugurated the practice pitch there.

Now, since the upcoming IPL season will take place from September 19 to November 10, Chennai Super Kings players will be leaving to UAE in the last week of August.

But before that Dhoni is taking time to hit the nets. He reportedly visited the complex last week and was practicing.

“He visited the JSCA International Stadium Complex last week. He practised at the indoor facility using bowling machine,” a Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) office-bearer confirmed.“He did batting practice for two days over the weekend, but has not returned since.”

However, no one knows his plans as he didn’t visit the complex after two days of practice.

“He did batting practice for two days over the weekend, but has not returned since. I honestly don’t know what are his plans or whether he will come back for training. We only know he has visited the facility for practice,” said the official.

Meanwhile, the Women’s T20 Challenge will be taking place from November 1 to November 10.
