Chennai Super Kings’ Ravindra Jadeja turned things around for the team with his brilliance in the final over as he took on Harshal Patel for 37 runs in the final over.
Jadeja began with a massive six in the cow corner, thanks to Harshal Patel for landing it in the slot.
Harshal Patel then missed the length once again to land it on the slot. Jadeja is too good to miss out on something like that.
Patel was trying for a yorker and completely missed out and it was a waist-high full toss that went for a six again.
Patel comes up with a shorter delivery but Jadeja was deep and was ready to take on Patel. As expected, the ball goes over deep square leg for a six.
Patel bowls a wide yorker and Jadeja slices it over extra cover. The fielder timed the jump well but the ball didn’t stick. Jadeja runs a couple.
Yet another gift from Patel and Jadeja takes it with open hands, dismisses the ball for yet another six, this time over deep mid wicket.
Patel bowls a fuller one on leg side and this time Jadeja gets enough bat to send the ball to a boundary at the squar leg to score record-equalling 37 runs.
He ended the innings with 62* from just 28 deliveries, took the team to 191.
Earlier, CSK witnessed Faf du Plessis scoring his 2nd consecutive fifty and Gaikwad had 33 runs. Soon, the team saw themselves at 111 for 3, thanks to Harshal Patel’s spell. However, Jadeja turned things around with his knock, especially, the final over.
