NGOs reviving the forests- Meet the crew behind it

When there are not so many people who are concerned about nature and the environment, there is a
team, not just one team, a joint venture of more than two to three NGOs is creating Miyawaki
forests in Tamil Nadu and they have recently planted around 1000 saplings of native species in Adhi
College of Engineering and Technology on 20th Feb 2021.

The ensemble behind this much-needed event is Vidhaigal, Sastha Helping Hands, and Adhi College of Engineering and Technology. The event was fortified by Kakkai Charitable Trust,
Manitham Potruvom, Thiruvangaranai Exnora, Ennangalin Sangamam.

Entertainment and News media YouTube channels such as Certified Rascals & Makkal Oodaga Maiyam are continuously supporting these NGOs towards nature preservation & environmental care.

The plantation drive happened for 8 hours with the help of 50 volunteers and the NSS students of
Adhi College of Engineering and Technology. The Chief guest who felicitated this event is Mr. R.K. Ojha IFS (Retd) – Former Principal Chief Conservator Of Forests (Research And Education), Tamil Nadu.

The volunteers have planted around 40 different types of native saplings which includes Banyan(ஆலமரம்), Peepal(அரச மரம்), Tulip(பூவரசன்), Mahua(இலுப்பை), Jamun(நாகப்பழம்), Mango, Asoka tree, jack fruit tree, padam, Guava, Gooseberry, Neem and much more.

This is their second Miyawaki project and they are so welcoming to the schools and colleges who are willing to create a Miyawaki forest in their area and they are providing an extra hand to teach the maintenance of such forests. For drilling into the land to plant all these 1000 saplings, Mr. Saravana Pandian sponsored the Auger Machine to the Vidhaigal team.

Afforestation is possible only when we join as a team, so to join hands with them for creating a
change and to stop global warming, check their pages which are highlighted below.
