On this day, 15th August 2017, Suzie Bates became the first player to score a ton in KSL. (Vipers vs Lightning)

Vipers, batting first, had Suzie Bates and Hayley Matthews adding 87 for the first wicket. It was Bates who took the charge and Matthews was glad to be on the other side. She made 12.

Georgia Adams, as well as Danielle Wyatt, played the anchor role for Bates as she completed her first fifty in 30 deliveries and took 33 deliveries for the next.

With fifteen fours and four sixes, she remained unbeaten on 119, and the Vipers ended with 180 for 2. However, things would have been different had Ellyse Perry held on to that tough return catch from Bates while she was batting on 39.

In return, Lighting found themselves at 25 for 3, and they couldn’t recover. Though Georgia Elwiss, Sarah Glenn and Thea Brookes had starts, the total proved far too many, and they fell 46 runs short. Bates also starred with her bowling by picking up three wickets.
