Pujara was the toughest batsman to bowl: Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins, the number one ranked bowler in Tests, said that Cheteshwar Pujara was the toughest batsman to bowl in a question and answer session arranged by Australian Cricketers Association.

Speaking about Pujara, who was the best batsman for India in historic Test win down-under in 2018, the Australian pacer said that Pujara was a real pain the back.

“There are a lot of them out there, unfortunately. But I am going to go with someone different, and he is (Cheteshwar) Pujara from India. He was a real pain in the back for us,” he said.

The long-form specialist was the man of the series in the tour with three centuries and a half-century. He scored 521 runs at an average of 74.

Cummins spoke high of the Indian number three, reemphasizing how difficult it was for them to dismiss Pujara.

“He was an absolute rock for them in that series. (He was) really hard to get out. Just ultra-concentration all day, day after day. He is the hardest one in Test cricket so far, I think,” Cummins added.
