Roger Federer foundation to provide $1M for African children

Roger Federer announced that his foundation will donate One million dollars to provide food for young children and families in Africa.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, schools and business have to come to halt. Federer took it to twitter to announce that his foundation pledges to provide food for 64000 marginalised people that include children and families who are affect due to the crisis.

It has been reported that the foundation is working with local organisations in Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi.

“The normally provided school meals are often the only nutritious meal children get. With schools now closed, children no longer have access to these meals. Hunger is a problem, in particular in the countries with lockdowns where vulnerable families have no reserves, said Janine Haendel, the CEO of the Roger Federer foundation.
