Sutirtha Mukherjee qualifies for Tokyo Olympics

India’s Sutirtha Mukherjee has qualified for the Tokyo Olympics after her 4-2 (7-11, 11-7, 11-4, 4-11, 11-5, 11-4) win over Manika Batra in the Asian Olympic Qualification tournament being held at Doha.                           
Mukherjee is currently world number 95 while Manika Batra is number 62.

Since they were the only two entrants South Asian Group, one was assured of qualification.

This will be Sutirtha’s first Olympic appearance.

Batra, Khel-Ratna Awardee, can still qualify for the Olympics based on her rankings.
